When you’re trying to decide which photographer to use for your family or senior portrait, commercial advertising images, or for your once-in-a-lifetime event, you need to know that the photographer you’re considering is really qualified.  As you browse around the internet and view many other photographers' websites, you'll see a lot of "fluff" about their "passion for photography" and how much they love their job ("passion" is currently a very hot buzzword on photographic websites).   So while passion and love of one's craft is commendable, "passion" does not assure you that they know what they’re doing or are experienced or qualified to professionally cover your once-in-a-lifetime event.  Our extensive involvement within the international photographic world proves our level of dedication to our profession.  So while we could provide you with a very impressive rant about how "passionate" we have been about our profession over the last 40+ years, we will, instead, tell you our qualifications within the  professional photographic world and let you decide if fact or "fluff" is more important in selecting a photographer for your once-in-a-lifetime event.

Rick served for many years as the Chairman of the PPLA Photographic Competition Committee where he organized and ran the photographic competitions for the Professional Photographers of Louisiana.  He was also a member of the Photographic Competition Committee of the Southwest Professional Photographers Association.

Rick's images have been accepted for Exhibition at the Professional Photographers of America's International Exhibitions, published in the PPA's "Showcase Album", and permanently retained by the PPA for inclusion in the prestigious PPA "Loan Collection".  Elements of the PPA Loan Collection are exhibited Internationally as the Professional Photographers of America's Exhibition of the finest examples of photographic artistry in the world.  One of his fine-art landscape images was one of only 46 images selected to comprise the Washington Dulles National Airport's "America the Beautiful" exhibit which was on display from November 2012 through April 2013.  This elite collection of images also comprised a special exhibition that was held at the Washington National Cathedral in May 2013.

Rick has presented programs on photographic lighting techniques to many photographic associations as well as having judged at numerous state photographic competitions around the country.

On the National level, for 20 years (1994-2014), Rick worked behind the scenes at the Professional Photographers of America's International Photographic Competition, and at the PPA International Photographic Exhibition at the PPA International Convention ("Imaging USA").  He also coordinated the setup of the PPA International Photographic Exhibit at the PPA International Conventions in San Antonio (2011), New Orleans (2012), Atlanta (2013), Phoenix (2014), and Nashville (2015).

Rick was also one of a group of only 20 photographers from all over the country who were selected by the Professional Photographers of America to be their first year inductees into their new "PPA Legacy Program".

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the world's oldest and largest organization of Professional Photographers.  The association is over 150 years old and currently has a membership of over 30,000 members.
