ABOUT ME
Rick Massarini has been a Professional Photographer since 1973. He is a "Certified Professsional Photographer", has received the designations of "Master Photographer" and "Photographic Craftsman" from the Professional Photographers of America, and is a Fellow of the Professional Photographers of Louisiana.
Rick has been a member of the Professional Photographers of Louisiana and the Professional Photographers of America since 1979, and is an invited member of the American Society of Photographers where he currently serves as the Southwest U.S. District Representative.

In January of 2006, Rick was Internationally honored by the Professional Photographers of America "for Outstanding Service to Professional Photography" by being presented with the PPA "Directors Award". The "Directors Award" is the highest honor that can be given by the Board of Directors of the Professional Photographers of America, and has been awarded to only 104 individuals Internationally since the award's establishment in 1958. The award was presented at the 2006 PPA National Convention in Austin, TX. by PPA Chairman of the Board, Robert Lloyd, and PPA President, Ann Monteith. At the 2011 Annual Convention of the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, Rick was presented with the "PPA National Award" for long term Outstanding Service to Professional Photography.
Rick is the Immediate Past President of the Professional Photographers of Louisiana, and is the Southwest District Representative for the American Society of Photographers. He is also the Chairman of the PPLA Photographic Competition Committee where he organizes and runs the photographic competitions for the Professional Photographers of Louisiana.
At the 2010 PPA International Judging, Rick earned the title of PPA Photographer of the Year by having all of his entries accepted for exhibition at the PPA International Exhibition. Additionally, one of his images from the International Competition was selected for inclusion in the PPA "Showcase Album", a small selection of some of the finest images from the International Competition's General Exhibit.
He has had his images accepted for International Exhibition at the Professional Photographers of America's International Exhibitions, and also permanently retained by the PPA for inclusion in the prestigious PPA "Loan Collection" . Elements of the PPA Loan Collection travel Internationally as the Professional Photographers of America's Exhibition of the finest examples of photographic artistry in the world.
On the National level, for the last 17 years, Rick has been a member of a very small group of Professional Photographers who work behind the scenes each year at the Professional Photographers of America's International Photographic Competition and at the International Photographic Exhibition at the PPA International Convention ("Imaging USA"). Rick is also a member of the Print Competition Committee of the Southwest Professional Photographers Association.
(Professional Photographers of America is the world's oldest and largest organization of Professional Photographers. The association is over 125 years old and currently has a membership of over 24,000 members.)
